Synopsis

Review

While not the breakthrough lesbian film which many had hoped for, Claire of the Moon is an earnest drama of simmering female sexual desire and equally strong denial. At an oceanside women writers' retreat in Oregon, Dr. Noel Benedict (Karen Trumbo), a brooding psychologist and lesbian author of "serious" books (reminding one of a constipated Carol Burnett), finds herself rooming with her opposite -- Claire (Trisha Wood), a willowy yet cynical straight blonde woman who is determinedly messy and fun-loving. Their budding relationship becomes a tense and inadvertently amusing cat-and-mouse game of "I want you...I don't want you" as they alternately try to overcome their insecurities, accept their true feelings and pounce on each other. A refreshingly intimate lesbian romance.

Definitely a romantic movie...My favorite scene was at the door, Claire leaned in very seductively but Noel pulled away... This is my spin on the film...

I loved the ending of this movie. It may have been a little predictable, but I anxiously await a sequel.
