Robert Chesley's homoerotic play about two men who, through a series of sexually charged telephone calls, begin to become friends and learn something about themselves is alternately intriguing, sexy and emotionally hard-hitting. The story begins when a young man is woken up by a stranger who wants telephone sex. He obliges, and through a series of these calls, their talks shift slowly from mere sexual games and into monologues and conversations about personal ambitions and frustrations. The alternate title is "Helping Hand -- A Pornographic Elegy in Twenty Telephone Calls, Many of Them Dirty." This video features, at the conclusion, an in-depth interview with Chesley on the writing and production of his play.
