Review

This legendary erotic creation was made by "Anonymous" (photographer James Bidgood eventually came forward to lay claim of authorship) and reportedly shot over a seven-year period. With its dream-like imagery, intense fetishist homoeroticism it is reminiscent of the 1960s New York Underground films especially the works of Kenneth Anger. Straddling the line between underground art and gay porn, the film is a classic of gay male erotica. The hero, teenage beauty Bobby Kendall, drifts into slumber and his dreams, fueled by a lively imagination and sexual fantasy, take on a surreal and amatory air. Poetic, tender yet sexually potent, we are taken through his erotic revelries: from scenes of Bobby becoming a toreador, a Roman slave, and eventually involved in Arabian Nights debauchery.

a bit confusing at first, only to then realize how thin the fine line is between the main character's real life and his fantasy world is. perfect 4 in the morning movie, the cinematography i thought was absolutely stunning, portraying the character's ever-growing elaborate and colorful fantasies and his own dark and dreary real life.

highly recommend this beautiful movie.

This DVD is not digitally remastered by ANY stretch of the imagination. The picture is terrible, and sound is too. It's grainy to the extreme, and all scratches and dust and every other kind of imperfection possible, has transferred over thoroughly. So basically, the claims of being digitally remasterd, which would be the ONLY reason to purchase the film, are a lie. The VHS is the same, but at least there are no claims of remastering. This was a home-made film that IS great, but it is hard to appreciate all of the great efforts it's creator made, when it looks so terrible. If it really HAD been remastered, it would have been a total thrill and a treasure to own, because you can tell it was meant to be beautiful.
