I don't want to talk too sweet but this movie is just really as good as other reviews had said. The story was great, the casts was gorgeous and overall this movie is marvellous! I just love everything about this movie. They show characters that could be related to our reality lives. The conflicts that the characters are facing is challenging enough and the sex scenes too is quiet realistic. I like the variety of characters and their own way of handling their issues. That's just human being... everybody is very unique! This movie reminds me of Queens, Heights and Happy Ending... all of these movie have great story and great actors. And it seems that this movie was produced earlier than all the others. So original... Before I forgot, I surely love the intro part of this movie. So funny! Although the ending may becoming sad, I do agree that "It's all started with sex...". So, just be careful with who you choose to sleep with... (just another advise from a guy who never get laid with anyone so far).

A great film, hard to believe that it was made in the US and not as an indie feature. It deals candidly with queer-bashing--and bashing back!--unsettling but somehow gratifying, real relationship issues handled realistically, HIV, and it's genuinely funny as well. Brilliant.

A note about the decision to reissue in 1.33:1 format. While it's true that without the matted rectangular shape of letterbox, you lose a bit on the sides. But interestingly, because of the matting used to produce this shape, you lose some from the top and bottom in letterbox versions. It's a toss-up. In viewing both versions and comparing frames, more interesting things seem to be happening often at the bottom of the frame than on the sides, so I'd opt for full-frame here.

Agree with the other reviewers about the film itself, but this is a wake up call to TLA Releasing: I would venture to say that most of the people interested in this film and others from TLA are gay people and because of the usual discretionary income in this demographic, we are also "early adopters" of new technology including widescreen TV sets. So, why on earth, here in 2004, would you re-release this film in a 1.33:1 full frame format when the original aspect ratio was 1.85:1 and the original 2000 release was at least in 1.85:1, although not anamorphic?? Why isn't this 2004 release anamorphic 1.85:1?? TLA needs to review what constitutes a proper DVD release!

What a pleasant surprise! Honestly, I have had the feeling for many years that a move like “Relax, its just sex” would never be made here in America. This movie is about a group of very intriguing good friends comprising of both gay and straight characters where, for once being gay is NOT the problem. It is not a “coming out” or a ”is he or is she gay?” film; everyone is very comfortable with his or her sexuality to the point that they are able to be very supportive of each other no matter what is going on in a particular person’s life at any particular moment.

There are many very funny moments intermingled with “real life” serious situations, which are dealt with--including love, HIV infection, commitments, a miss-carriage, and a “gay bashing”. The “gay bashing” for me, really hit home. For once, in this movie, the “victim” had opportunity to get immediate revenge and did so to the shock and horror of his friends who had problems dealing with his anger and his execution of revenge on one of the bashers. (In all honestly if given the opportunity to get revenge on a “gay bashing” punk, I think that I would take advantage of that opportunity as the character, in the film, did!)

All of the actors in the film are great with Jennifer Tilly giving, to me, an Oscar winning performance—she’s hysterically funny at one moment and “heart breaking” the next moment. I just wish I had a group of friends as portrayed in this movie.

If you are into good films, buy this DVD

This movie bounces in and out of comedy and drama. But it works. Even though this is an ensemble of fine actors--Jennifer Tilly and Mitchell Anderson standout. Interestingly it is more popular on the lesbian best sellers list. Hmmm come on guys give it a view. You won't be disappointed.
