Synopsis

Nick Bedford, closeted coach of California Pacific College's men's rowing team, is struggling with professional ethics. He denies his attraction to Morgan Estrada, a rower on the crew, though the heated glances between them drive Nick wild. Review

Rocking the Boat was a sexy book. Christopher Koehler did a great job with this story, and for guys with coach/athlete fantasies, this one should be a hit. I think this is one that its between the eyes for gay coaches who find their athletes attractive and the ethical dilemma that is present. How do you navigate those waters, especially when you realize that the athlete feels the same attraction? And when it happens, it is an incredible sexual and cerebral rush!

As for the plot, I think it was well executed. I found myself feeling sorry for Stuart. The poor guy seemed to be left as an afterthought – the friend who is always left looking longingly at the guy that he wants and ending up empty handed. He doesn’t even get laid. As an athlete, I can tell that this story has some truth in the basics of the sport also, so it is good to know that Koehler knows what he is talking about. It makes for a very credible story.

This is a story that I can see having a sequel, with Stuart, Drew and Brad in the mix to make it all as titillating as this great book is! I can only hope....
