I bought this film because Nick Stahl was in it, and I admire his work. I should have saved my money. The dialogue is pathetic. I am available for a re-write guys!!!! Also, far too much information is left out of the movie, and as such we spend far too much time guessing what is going on psychologically, and trying to guess about the horrors of these kids backgrounds and what is going on in the movie. It distracts from the story and the supposed drama. Also, this movie should have been given a PG rating because it is so namby pamby. Every 10 year old knows about drugs today, and probably by 12, they know that prostitution exists. All the johns wear long johns or baggy boxer shorts. Oral sex is guessed at for about 5 seconds each. Screwing is out! How do you have a sex movey without sex???? The supposed drama is lacking because of a failure to connect the pieces, and Joshua Close is miscast as the newcommer. I would have suggested someone who could act nieve (Chad Michael Murray maybe?). Close gets better as the film gets on, but he just doesn't look the part at the beginning, and it destroys the symmetry of the movie. Why not hire a make up guy, fellows? Some of Stahl's make up needs help in some scenes as well. If this film had some convincing sex action, and told us more of the horrors that these kids had gone through, plus decent dialogue and better camera work, it could have been an excellent film. As is, it is not worth the bother. Buy My Own Private Idaho instead!

Just like the movie Junked, which turned on it's belly clicked it's heels three times and promptly died before even the opening credits. And just like the movie Junked it should have been juinked before it even made to the film in the camera.

i just watched this last night and i thought it was a great movie... at the beginning it was a little slow but once i finished the movie... i looked back on it, i personally thought that it was great... i disagree with that guy about the brother scene.. it was showing to the brother for him to know just how far his brother would do to stay there and not come back with him... we as the audience knows how down and out he was but the character of the brother did not know so it was being revealed to him... in the life of the movie.. character's lives go on outside of the scene we are watching and they dont know the things that we do... remember that mr. zero stars if you want a simple storyline go watch spongebob

Yes, it's a downer, but it's real. There are actual people living this kind of life--in my profession and just living in a big city I've seen and met them. After reading other negative reviews here, I was reluctant to see this film but when I finally did I found it much better than I expected. For one thing, the production values seem Hollywood-level professional unlike so many gay-themed indie flicks. As others have admitted, the acting is very good and the characters, while things don't turn out well for them, are interesting and sympathetic. My bottom line--it stirred my emotions, made me think and feel, and that's what a good movie does.
