For eight seasons we laughed along with and at Will (Eric McCormack), Grace (Debra Messing), Jack (Sean Hayes) and Karen (Megan Mullally). Set in the "Seinfeld" mode, this was a series about a group of friends in NYC, although it was really not about anything. Episodes focused on Jack's lack of ability to keep a job, Karen's complete lack of all abilities, Grace's lack of grace and Will's lack of a boyfriend. While these holes in the character's lives might seem like a thin premise for a show, it worked. For eight years we invited these gay and gay-friendly characters into our living rooms and learned to love them. Creators/partners David Kohan and Max Mutchnick have left us a network television program about gay men with morals, jobs (except for Jack) families and loves. Who knows how many minds and hearts have been changed by this gently revolutionary television series?
